Blogroll Problems in Internet Explorer? October 9, 2007
Posted by goodbooks in Uncategorized.add a comment
You might have got to the point where you’re ready to add some blogs to your blogroll (the list of blogs you think are cool and like to read), and tried to do it, and couldn’t find anything that looks remotely like what we’re asking you to do. Well, we found a little glitch today that might be part of the problem
If you used Blogger to make your blog, and if you use Internet Explorer as your browser, the thing that should allow you to add a blogroll (or any other stuff that would show up in the sidebar part of your blog) doesn’t show up. Instead, try using Firefox (if you’re a Mac user, Safari works, too).
- Go to Blogger and log in with your user name and password.
- You should see your dashboard with your blog listed underneath it. There’s a little gear icon next to the word “Manage;” click on Layout.
- The “Template” tab will open up to show you your page elements. This is a stripped down snapshot of what your basic page has on it. On the right hand side of the template, you should see a box that says, “Add a Page Element.” (This is the piece that’s missing if you try it using Internet Explorer.)
- Choose “Link List”. Call your list whatever you want (“List of Links,” “Blogroll,” “People I Like,” whatever), and then add the URL and a name for each link you want to add.
Let us know if this doesn’t work, and don’t forget about open lab times in case you need help.

I am glad to report that 78 staff members have signed up for this program. I have been reading the blogs that staff have created. They are wonderful. It is inspiring to hear so many voices talk about their experiences with the program so far. Keep up the good work!!!!
